Description of the missing person
Hussein was a very calm and sensitive boy. He was a very loving and caring boy who would always try his best to provide whatever he can for his mother and family. He was very close to them and he loved to spend time with them. Outside of school, Hussein would spend time with his friends and during the weekends, he would sometimes go with his father and siblings to Jounieh to Nahr El Kalib where he would swim and teach his sister how to dive or they would simply go and have a picnic in one of the public gardens there. Hussein also loved to draw and would sometimes draw his sister Fatima. His dream was to become a dentist because he didn’t like to see people with unhealthy teeth.
Circumstances of the Disappearance
On January 18 1976, the neighborhood in which Hussein was living with his family was under fire, the family decided to run away and take nothing but the clothes on their back. Hussein and his mother were heading to Achrafieh by car when they were stopped at the Badawi – Khodor checkpoint. They forced them out of the car, imprisoned his mother and took him away.
