Description of the missing person
Nicola was the manager of a post office in Fia. He was educated, knowledgeable, and ethical. He was loved by everyone in the village. He had a systematic person, this was seen in the way he managed his post office to the way he dealt with family members. His house was open for all since he was known to be very hospitable and generous. He loved hanging out with friends and playing cards and simply having fun. Nicola was 57 years old when he was kidnapped and he was to retire. He loved nature so he bought a vast land that had Olive trees and he wanted to take care of it and spend the rest of his life in his village near his family.
Circumstances of the Disappearance
In winter and on 18 January 1979, a car stopped right in front of Nicola’s house that was next to the post office. A man stepped outside of the car and knocked on his front door. His wife Asmaa answered and she saw the man. He asked about her husband telling her that he wanted to send a letter to one of his relative. Another man was waiting for him in the car under the rain. Asmaa called for her husband and when he came, he was dressed in his Pajamas. He saw the two men under the rain and insisted that they would come inside and have some coffee. He refused. When Nicola stepped outside to take them to the post office, the man attacked him and forced him into the car and they took off.
