Description of the missing person

Ahmad had five brothers and two sisters. His youngest sister was just a few months old. When Ahmad went missing, he was nineteen years old and both of his parents were still alive. He was known for his close relationship with his siblings and for the fact that he took good care of his himself and didn’t neglect his external appearance. He loved swimming and listening to music. He had the same aspirations as most of the young people his age: he wanted to get a car, open a shop, help out his family, and get married some day.

Circumstances of the Disappearance

Ahmad was with his mother and younger sister heading in a taxi from Nabaa to Barbeer in west Beirut. As they were traveling through Achrafieh, they were stopped at a checkpoint by one of the Lebanese armed groups. Ahmad was forced to get out and he was taken away along with two other men who were also in the taxi, despite Ahmad's mother’s pleas. Ahmad’s mother hurried to the Deterrent Forces (international peacekeepers), who returned to the checkpoint to look for Ahmad, but despite their best efforts they were unable to find a trace of him.
